The booklet from the 2CD deluxe is not replicated and this edition has a ten-panel fold-out lyric sheet with photography and album / reissue credits. The no-frills one-CD remaster comes in a standard jewel case and the rear tray design is similar to the original release from the 1990s. This edition effectively replicates the content on the first two discs in the Super Deluxe Edition box set. The second disc is the 2013 mix of the original album and ten demos. The first disc is basically the audio content on the vinyl records – 12 original album tracks and eight bonus offerings. When it comes to the In Utero reissues, the two-CD deluxe edition probably represents the best all-out value. The six-panel gatefold sleeve is nicely done and thankfully some excellent anti-static sleeves have been used to store the records. This heavyweight (180g) triple vinyl set has been cut at 45 RPM for optimum sound quality by Steve Rooke at Abbey Road Studios (the man responsible for The Beatles vinyl remasters last year). The box comes with a very cute magnetised vinyl version of the figure on the front cover, and the hardback book within the slipcase has a wealth of period photography, even if it is a little light on essays and commentary.
